"It's a Cinch" Bag

Inspired by this post over at MADE, I whipped up a couple of these fun, cinched bags. Dana uses couch cushion covers she found at IKEA but since the store is a bit of a drive for me, I just purchased some on-sale fabric at Joann.

This gray/black one is made out of soft linen. I love the worn, heathered look of the gray linen.

This army green/ striped bag was a gift to my Mom for her birthday and was made from home decor fabrics found at Joann.

I love this bag for every day use but it would also make a great beach bag or overnight bag. I've been using mine (I kept the gray one for myself) to carry my books and laptop to bring to class. It's nice to have an all-in-one bag that can carry everything you need.

I also added a lining. Come back later this week for a tutorial on how to add your own zippered lining to an existing tote bag!

Thanks for stopping by!

Super cute! I love the striped one, and the gray linen is so pretty! I attempted your dyed keds the other day . . . oh, it was such a failure because I was a total dummy and tried something that turned out to be really stupid . . . I'll blog about it later so you can laugh at me ;-) But I can't wait to try it again and do it right this time! I should know by now to just follow instructions :-(

Thanks for linking up at Bacon Time. The party is still going strong. Over 250 links, yeah! Hope to see you again next week with more great projects like this pretty bag. I am going to have a special give away too next week just for linkers. If next time you could grab the party button or add the link back to my blog to your post or somewhere on your blog that would be great. This will spread the news of the party and be good for us all. Hope to see you soon.
