This cosmetic bag is sadly not for me. I made it for my cousin's birthday that's coming up. I'm seriously in love with this fabric. It's Alexander Henry in Masai Swirl. I think I may need to go buy a couple more yards. I'm seeing pajama shorts being made out of it in the near future..
I used the Boxy Cosmetic Bag Tutorial from the fabulous blog Skip to My Lou. I love this tutorial. This is the 3rd time I've used it and my favorite by far.
I made a couple of small changes. I used the dimensions 10" x 12" to make the bag a little smaller, I added the little strap for portability, and instead of using oil cloth on the inside I used a bright pink nylon. Keep in mind though that if you choose not to use oil cloth or laminated cotton for the inside, you'll need some interfacing to make the bag stiffer. I used pellon fusible interfacing on the back side of my printed fabric.
