New Camera

I got a new camera this weekend and I'm seriously in love.  I've been dreaming about getting a DSLR for months now and it was completely worth the wait. I didn't quite have the finances for it yet but my awesome Dad agreed to buy it and let me pay him back.

It's a Canon Rebel EOS T2i . I bought it together with an 18-55mm lens as a part of this package.

Needless to say, I was snapping pictures all weekend long. You know, pretending to be an artsy photographer...

Tutorial coming soon with this lovely fabric!

Aren't these shoes awesome?! They were plain white tennis shoes until a friend of mine drew all of these designs. I wish I had that much talent.

Previously, I had been using the Nikon Coolpix S8100. Which I must say is truly a great camera. If you're just wanting a simple digital camera that takes great pictures than I would absolutely recommend it.

I've snapped some great shots with the Nikon but sometimes it would take 5 or more blurry shots to get there. Here are some of my favorite pictures taken with my Nikon:

Dyed shoes. Find the tutorial here.

The Nikon has served me pretty well up until now but it was time for the upgrade. The Canon gives me the crisp, clear shot I'm looking for every time.

Any recommendations of  How-to DSLR camera books would be greatly appreciated. I've got a lot to learn about all the different settings.

Have a great day!

Hey friend! Congrats on the new camera! I love having a DSLR camera, although my dumb butt has gone threw 2 lenses already! :(

This e-book is supposed to be great, and I've been meaning to buy it now for awhile but just haven't. Maybe I'll get motivated and buy it NOW....

Funny - I'm looking at upgrading from a canon powershot to a nikon dslr! LOL

I've been looking into all the different cameras and a couple times I've seen the name Dav.id Bus.ch mentioned - he seems to have written how-to books for almost every camera. He has one for the T2i and the one I'm hoping to get, D3100.

Enjoy!

Ohh A new camera is something I must purchase very soon. I'm sure you will truly enjoy your new camera. Also, I'm in love with your blog and so very happy I just stumbled across it. I was looking for a good ironing board cover tutorial and found it. As soon as I complete my cover I will share the results with you and link back to you on my blog. Thanks for sharing and I will certainly be reading and playing catch up on your blog. Take care and happy crafting!

Let me just tell you, you have a fabulous blog! As much as I craft, I am just getting into the sewing side of everything, & I love how easy you make things! Thank you! I am a lover of a site called Pinterest, where I have found many amazing things. I found a pic of one of your tops, which is how I found your blog- but also, I found this:

The UNmanual, and plain english guide to all the tricks and tips to using your DSLR! I know it's a little pricey- but worth every penny! Enjoy!

I so need to get in gear and find a new camera. I have had mine for ages and have to pry the lens open each time I start it up!
